all my tulpas are OCs except one who is a fictive but developed into his own person. the only thing he shares with his "base" is his first name and a similar appearance
Luminesce: A lot of tulpamancers/plural systems eventually realize that the host/original person in the mind wasn't ever really different than what their systemmates are - a personality and countless associations with countless things - and that the rest of the body and brain are somewhat separate from them. People who haven't experienced plurality (tulpamancy being one kind of that) generally associate literally everything about the body and brain with themselves though, so they tend to come into the practice believing tulpas/systemmates to be some tiny thing by comparison.
So that's why you'll see some people here say that hosts/"originals"/non-plural people ("singlets") are no different from tulpas or so on, it's a perspective shift/realization(edited)

wait an a person with OSDD who supports tulpamancers? (edited)
But yeah DID systems do support tulpamancy they are just uncommon. I know of two DID systems who have a tulpa

Luminesce: That's the eventual conclusion nearly all systems that learn switching and probably some that learn possession come to(edited)

The only difference I see in myself and my tulpas is that I've existed a lot longer than them, and a lot of how the brain is set up developed along with "me" so there are many similarities in our automatic thinking and my thinking compared to my tulpas'
I did used to be the one who'd wake up switched in if any of my tulpas went to sleep while switched, but after a few months that stopped being the case and they stay fronting seamlessly
I love when people are like, tulpas are our friends and they make our lives so much better and I love them so much.
And I am just there like yeahhhh ahahah
Luminesce: My tulpas are ~13 years old, and I was ~14 years old when they were first created, so very soon here they will be as old -> older than I was in my life before them(edited)
Anna: I don't know if I consider myself a tulpa cuz, the way u guys talk about them, they seem waaay cooler than me
Like, the people in our system can't do mindvoicing constantly, we don't have innerworld and we only remember about things that happens in front
I/we are more like masks than saparated people
I talked with my tulpa til I started getting little responses to my questions. I encouraged them to talk more and think more about stuff. I had to understand that we share mental resources for them to think more freely.
For inner world, we made up a location we wanted to use, gathered some visual references (like photos of interior design, furniture, beaches), and started visualizing ourselves in that location.(edited)
So, it's hard to my sysmates to think for themselves. We have 10+ members but none of them seem able to think or talk like that. And the fact that I get distracted with every tiny thing does not help

same with innerworld building. My mind loves to create distractions everytime I try(edited)

not personally a fan of forcing headmates to conform to an identity, and making them identify with being a median facet of you is not exception. It's one thing if that happens naturally, it's another if you're making someone do that.
i do have a headmate that is sort of...median in nature but he doesnt want to change it
